Kingdom of Bahrain

The government of the Kingdom of Bahrain has embraced this challenge and the present MDG report reveals that Bahrain has made significant progress towards achieving the MDGs. Bahrain is potentially on track on all of the MDGs. For example, based on the indicator of people living under US$ 1 per day, Bahrain does not suffer from extreme poverty. Growing unemployment however is a key challenge to policymakers. In the past the Kingdom has worked on a number programmes including a pilot microfinance projects with UNDP to address this issue.
