The maternal
mortality rate for Bahrain is akin to negligible as women are
provided with quality medical services during birth procedures. A
cause for some concern however is the high fertility rate of 2.5
children per woman (down from 5.9 during 1975-2004) resulting in a
population growth rate of 1.6 percent (a decline from 3.3 %).
Assuming trends remain the same, the fertility rate and consequently
the population growth rate should continue to decline.
